2021 RV shipments predicted to smash 500,000 in USA

Forecasts by the RV Industry Association and ITR Economics predict that wholesale RV shipments will rise by as much as 20 per cent in the United States in 2021, breaking the 500,000 units barrier.

The new projection shows shipments should range between 490,300 and 515,400 in 2021, with the most likely figure being 502,582. The year 2020 is expected to end up at about 423,000 units, which is 4.3 per cent up on 2019.

RV Industry Association president, Craig Kirby, said: “The RV industry is on track to break half a million RV shipments in 2021 for only the second time in our history. The new forecast also shows that 2020 will be the fourth best year on record, surpassing 2019 by nearly 5 per cent, despite the nearly two-month shutdown earlier this spring.”

Towable RV shipments should hit around 453,200 units in 2021, while its believed motorhome shipments should hit about 49,200 units.

ITR Economics also reports that their system of leading economic indicators is pointing toward positive growth conditions for the RV market. Strong consumer demand and easing supply constraints will also benefit the industry.
