A caravan from the future?

Anyone with even a passing interest in the automotive industry will have seen or heard about the Cybertruck. The unusual, angular and spacecraft-like design from electric vehicle specialist Tesla was announced last year and certainly divided opinion in terms of its visuals around the world. Tesla itself says the Cybertruck has more utility than a truck combined with more performance than a sports car, a vehicle built with durability and passenger protection firmly in mind. Underneath its quirky looks and its boastful performance claims, one man decided that it could also well be the perfect tow car.

Russian inventor Ivan Zheltonogov has always enjoyed creating. Ever since he was a small child, he has been obsessed with designing things and building things. During his career he has taken all kinds of weird and wonderful designs from initial sketched through to manufactured pieces of brilliance. And the latest one is the perfect camping accompaniment to the Tesla Cybertruck. Ivan, through his company Landtraveler, has created a custom caravan designed to perfectly match the look and style of Tesla’s creation.

“I love to design and implement interesting projects,” Ivan told Camping Trade World.

“This idea is based on the Tesla Cybertruck car – a customer asked me to make him such a trailer. It was a very interesting project. Though it may surprise you to know that I do not really like to travel myself, I just love to design and model and build.”

Ivan’s Landtraveler ‘Cybertruck’ has everything the discerning camper needs – a dining area with a table that turns into a large double bed, a kitchenette with a sink, shower and toilet, large water tanks, a diesel autonomous heater and batteries that get their charge from large solar panels on the roof. The Landtraveler also features roof and side windows, allowing plenty of light in to enjoy the outdoors even when the weather is not so good.

While this was a one-off project, Ivan will not say no to making another. In fact, he already has plans for more to come in 2021.

“This spring, I will be releasing another unique and very stylish mobile home,” he said. I guess we will just have to watch this space.
