Countdown to Japan Camping Car Show 2021

Chiba City, just around the bay from Tokyo in Japan, is set to host the annual Japan Car Camping Show from 11 to 14 February this year, despite the on-going global pandemic and the various restrictions it brings. The show, which is organised by the Japan Recreational Vehicle Association (JRVA), usually attracts a global audience of visitors and exhibitors alike, will probably have a more domestic feel this year due to travel restrictions, but is still hoping for a successful show.

Visitors to the show can expect the see the very latest and greatest from the Japanese camping and RV industry including campervans, caravans, trailers, light campers, tents, accessories and other equipment. There will also be a strong presence from various RV parks and campsite owners throughout Japan, as well as tourist boards and other sightseeing information. Like many other countries in the Northern Hemisphere, Japan is anticipating a boom in domestic tourism this summer with camping and RVing seen as one of the safest and most enjoyable ways for people to enjoy vacations with their friends and families.

As part of the JRVA’s plans to protect visitors and exhibitors against COVID-19, there will be a number of precautions and procedures implemented during the event. These include ensuring the exhibition hall is well ventilated with air conditioning, regular cleaning and sanitising of common areas such as door handles, toilets, waiting rooms, temperature checks for all visitors, social distancing advice, and compulsory mask wearing for everyone inside the exhibition hall.  The JRVA has also advised visitors not to all attempt to gain entry to the show when it first opens and is advising people to spread out into the afternoon too, to avoid large crowds. Tickets can be purchased via an online ‘pass market’ which will reduce the interaction people need to have with show staff. There is also a Chiba City Corona Tracking Service you can register to by scanning a QR code.

One positive sign for the Japan Camping Car Show is that organisers recently successfully and safely held the Fukuoka CampingCar Show 2020 back in November.
