German caravan giant Hobby has released a new app to help its end customers control important functions of their leisure vehicle straight from their mobile device. The HobbyConnect app is free to download via either the Google Play Store or the Apple Store and has been designed with ease of use at the forefront of thinking.

Whether you want to control the air conditioning or heating, check the battery levels, or save certain light settings, HobbyConnect allows you to do it with ease within 10 metres of your vehicle thanks to a Bluetooth connection.

Hobby has also revealed a HobbyConnect+ version of the software that will allow you control the settings of your vehicle from anywhere on earth, so loing as you have an internet connection via WiFi or cellular. The HobbyConnect+ service is free for the first year and then a small subscription fee will apply after that.

Hobby is, of course, not the first to jump on the digital connectivity bandwagon in the leisure vehicle industry, but perhaps what this news signals is that consumers now expect  this kind of digital technology in their caravans and motorhomes.
