New CEO joins Campspot

Leading North American RV resort and campground reservation and management provider Campspot has appointed a new CEO in the shape of Michael Scheinman.

Michael joins Campspot with more than 10 years of experience in the travel industry with specialisms in ecommerce technology and corporate strategy to boot. He previously headed up Orbitz and CheapTickets, two portfolio brands of online travel giant Expedia Group. His new role at Campspots will see him focus on growing the user and supplier base for the company, while enhancing the site’s products, features and functionality.

Michael said: “I am thrilled to be joining the Campspot team at what is a tremendously exciting time for the company and the camping industry as a whole. The past year has introduced millions of new campers to the outdoors; with 2021 shaping up to be an even bigger year, we believe we're in a great position to reduce friction for travellers and campground owners, and make these experiences more accessible.”

Michael will replace Campspot founder Caleb Hartung at the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based company, who will remain active as an advisor and board director.

Campspot currently provides access to more than 100,000 campsites across the United States and Canada including RV resorts, campgrounds, cabins, glamping options and more.
