Swedish travel tech startup raises funding for campsite marketplace

Swedish startup company Acamp has raised €2.5 million for its travel tech platform dedicated to helping camping enthusiasts easily find amazing places to camp. The funding was led by Spintop Ventures, with participation from LRF Ventures as well as existing investor Centripetal Capital.

Acamp, which was founded by Paul Berggren and Öjje Holt, was born out of frustration with traditional campsites and aims to create a platform where private hosts and business owners can list unutilised land and curated experience for campers to book.

Founder Öjje Holt commented: “We are thrilled by the surging popularity and interest for sustainable tourism, and are fully committed to connecting people with unique places to stay in nature.”

Meanwhile, Isabel Nilson at Spintop Ventures said: “We are beyond impressed with the founders of Acamp who through their true passion for camping have built a rapidly growing platform with a highly engaged camper community. With the founders’ track record of scaling startups into global organizations, we envision Acamp becoming a game-changer for the campground industry.”

The year ahead looks set to be an exciting one for Acamp – having already expanded into fellow Nordic countries Norway and Denmark, it has plans to become the biggest campsite marketplace in Europe, for which this fresh investment will help.
