Tangible excitement for Florida RV Super Show

Next week could represent a pretty important and pivotal moment for the American RV industry calendar in 2021 and at the heart of it is a show, with the greatest of respects to the organisers, that would not normally expect to be there. The 2021 Florida RV Supershow at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa Bay is going ahead as planned from 13 to 17 January. That’s right. A. Show. Is. Happening. And because it’s the first of its kind for a long while to do so, it’s stirring up some excitement in the industry.

“I’ve been speaking to clients, customers and contacts all week and so many of them are genuinely really excited to finally be able to go to a show,” said Adam Weisner, CCO at SuperSprings International.

“I think you’re going to see a lot of top brass there from a lot of the big players in the RV industry – so many people are just looking forward to the prospect of talking to people face-to-face and end users are super excited about being able to see some new products up close.”

Of course, all this is going on at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic is very much still a real thing. Up to 200,00 new cases of the virus are being recorded in the US every day at the time of writing, but the organisers believe they have the right restrictions in place to make it as safe as possible.

Organiser, the Florida RV Association, is planning:

  • Temperature checks at all general admission gates and rally participants (upon arrival).
  • Threshold: 100.4F; Cooling down tents available for second temp check. Those still over 100.4F will be asked to leave. The Florida State Fairgrounds will refund the parking cost. The Association’s wellness coordinator is a medical professional.
  • Face coverings will be mandatory in all buildings and RVs and when social distancing is not possible.
  • An additional general admission gate will be opened giving a total of three entrances to disperse consumers better.
  • Hand sanitizer stations throughout the facility and personal size in Rally diddy bags, distributed to all supplier booths, in all Information booths and on all floor managers carts.
  • The supplier buildings will be sanitized every morning.
  • Each exhibitor must confirm their employees have been vetted.
  • People moving trams out for sanitation will be rotated on a bi-hourly basis.
  • Advanced ticketing available to consumers for contactless entrance.

And so, the rest of the global RV and camping industry will look on with baited breath. One thing is for certain, big names will be there, including: SuperSprings International, Lippert Components, Lazydays RV, Heartland, Jayco, Tiffin Motorhomes, Cruiser RV, Grand Design, Coachmen, and many more. Will the show be a success? Will it attract its normal figures of around 75,000 people? Will it be safe? Will it be a shot in the arm for the industry? The only way to find out is to wait and see. And keep it with Camping Trade World for updates.
